Wartime Service Records and Documents
As we can trace our families back beyond the beginning of the 18th century, the possibilities of finding people who served in the conflicts around the world from that time to the late 20th century are almost guaranteed.
The majority of our documents are from the two world wars of 1914 – 1918 and 1939 – 1945 and many of our ancestors lost their lives to provide a future for us to enjoy ours.
The Pridmore brothers of Sheffield perhaps encapsulated the bravery of the time and the sacrifice made by themselves and their family was felt on a larger scale than most.
The detailed record of Edward ‘Ted’ Parry DFC gives a small clue as to what it was like to fly as a tail gunner over Germany and the elation of a medal followed by the sorrow of his death.
